The Masterpiece trip offers you an all-round New Zealand experience so it’s no wonder that the variety and standard of accommodation on this trip is second to none. You’ll meet friendly hosts and stay in the kinds of places you’ll remember forever. Every place offers you a unique experience of some kind...
Milford Wanderer (Milford Sound)
The Milford Wanderer is a purpose built vessel designed to replicate a traditional trading scow and is perfectly suited to cruising the fiords. This is one of only a couple of options for staying overnight in Milford, so you’re one of a lucky few in the world that will get to wake up in the morning in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Your relaxed overnight cruise will take you to view the fiord’s waterfalls, rainforests, mountains and wildlife and you’ll have the opportunity to explore by small boat or kayak too.
You’ll stay in a private cabin with shared bathrooms and be served a 3 course dinner and a cooked breakfast prepared by the onboard chef. A specialist nature guide is on board to provide information and answer questions.
Lake Ohau Quarters (Mackenzie Country)
Your group will have exclusive use of this modern purpose built lodge in one of New Zealand’s most spectacular High Country Stations. The Lake Ohau Station unfolds over a dramatic, glacier-carved valley and is nestled into the rugged peaks of the Southern Alps. We have access to a range of rooms, including some multi-share accommodation, and separate bathrooms for men and women. Make yourself at home and enjoy the ambient space of the lounge, snuggle up by the huge fire and share a meal at the long table - Kiwi family style.
Mt Cook Lodge
One of only two places to stay in the Mount Cook National Park you’ll be treated to incredible views from your doorstep. Settle into your comfortable, warm and modern room to rest your legs after a day in the hills. If you want to explore further you’re close to numerous marked walkways and the local visitor centre too.
The Palms Motel Nelson
Located within a short walk to the centre of town, this smart hotel in sunny nelson makes for a happy stay. Your unit will have a fully kitted out kitchenette if you fancy cooking something up on your day off and a swimming pool, perfect for cooling off. There’s even a shared BBQ and dining area by the pool.
Lochmara Lodge (Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlborough Sounds)
This unique place is a lodge, wildlife recovery and arts centre so there is plenty to explore. You will arrive under your own steam by kayaking across the sound to the lodge beach, where you’ll be welcomed by the hosts and shown to your homely room. Explore the sculpture trail, visit the rescued wildlife and discover more about their conservation programmes before enjoying an excellent meal with an amazing view from the restaurant overlooking the Sound.
Okarito Beach House
This West Coast gem will give you a real taste of Kiwi bach (pronounced “batch” = beach house) culture. Okarito is a tiny coastal town mostly overlooked by tourists on their way to the glaciers, but with a deserted beach, interesting people and the opportunity to get a taste of Kiwi life, it is often described as a highlight of our trips! Enjoy a beach style room, share a home-cooked meal around the long wooden table together and explore the village.
Edgewater Resort Wanaka
A stunning lakeside retreat, with charming apartment style accommodation, offering you the opportunity to relax and unwind in luxury after a busy day in the outdoors. Take advantage of the spa and sauna facilities before or after dinner, or take a walk along the lakefront track for incredible panoramic views of Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps.
Please Note, on occasion for operational reasons, we may stay at an alternative but equally attractive and comfortable accommodations.
