Kiwi Classic Accommodation

On the Kiwi Classic trip, you'll sleep soundly in comfortable accommodations that we have chosen specifically for their fantastic locations. You’ll meet friendly hosts and have a private ensuite room most nights. For a classic New Zealand backcountry experience, we'll spend two nights in Department of Conservation backcountry huts with shared facilities. 

Aoraki Alpine Lodge

Set in the heart of Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, the lodge is ideally situated for exploring the National Park’s many walks. The Mount Cook village itself is a lovely spot to enjoy the views with a barista-made coffee, or visit the Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre museum and planetarium. An internationally recognised Dark Sky Reserve, the night sky here is truly outstanding with myriads of stars visible to the naked eye. You’ll sleep well tonight in a comfortable ensuite room.

The Palms Motel Nelson

Located within a short walk to the centre of town, this smart hotel in sunny nelson makes for a happy stay. Your unit will have a fully kitted out kitchenette if you fancy cooking something up on your day off and a swimming pool, perfect for cooling off. There’s even a shared BBQ and dining area by the pool.

Bushline Hut - Backcountry Mountain Hut (Nelson Lakes National Park)

This night will be spent far out in the wilderness to give you a real taste of adventure. The Department of Conservation manages a network of 950 backcountry huts all over New Zealand and they are an incredible resource for residents and visitors alike. You’ll stay in the smart and modern Bushline Hut, which sleeps 14 people in bunk-style accommodation. You’ll be surprised at the amazing meal your guides can cook up and at how well you sleep after such a big day in the outdoors. Facilities may be basic, but it’s a place you will remember forever.

Wonderland Makarora

Our Kiwi Classic tour gets you even further off the beaten track than our other trips, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the wilderness and stay in unique accommodations deep in our National Parks. Wonderland Makarora is situated on the edge of Mount Aspiring National Park, and the well-appointed A-frame cabins have spectacular views of the Southern Alps.
