Our small group tours are all thoughtfully created to make the most of your time in New Zealand. However, we understand that the tour that suits one person, might be completely wrong for another. By maintaining an element of flexibility, knowing our country inside-out and having two guides accompany every trip, we do our utmost to ensure your unique needs are catered for – whether it be a passion for food and wine, a desire for physical activity, a love of birds, or a penchant for history. Something else? Let us know!
That said, we also regularly design trips for private groups, tailor-making the itinerary and designing it specifically with a particular focus. If you have a special interest group of any kind and would like an idea and a quote, then contact us for our expertise and a taste of that famous Kiwi hospitality.

Special Interest Groups
New Zealand is a cyclists’ paradise, but there is a certain amount of knowledge and organisation required to run a cycle focused trip. We have the guides, equipment, expertise and know-how to smoothly run a high-level cycling trip for private groups of 8 to 80 people. Whether you want to tour the country by bike, use a hop-on-hop-off approach, or a multi-discipline trip with a mixture of trails, road and some more adventurous mountain biking routes, we can help.

With the opportunity to capture incredible images around every corner, it’s no wonder that photographers both amateur and professional are drawn to capture New Zealand’s iconic landscapes. We regularly accommodate photographers on our trips, allowing additional time to set up shots, making the most of the light and keeping equipment safe and secure. You’ll go home with a portfolio of images that could include the famous Milford Sound (you’ll stay on a boat overnight allowing you to make the most of the dawn light), the autumn colours in Arrowtown (the recommended travel time for autumn colours is April), a panoramic vista of the snow-capped Southern Alps and so much more.

You might not know it, but New Zealand is home to several unique animals and birds. The lack of predators (before us humans arrived) led to many of the native birds becoming flightless, so with a bit of luck and good management you’ll be able to meet our ground-dwelling kiwi, weka and kekapo. Our mountain parrots will also surely feature somewhere along the way, either waking you up in the morning with a friendly chirp, or you’ll see them ducking and diving along the road to Milford Sound. You can swim with the dusky dolphins in Kaikoura, meet the fur seals on the east coast and we will do our best to show you a tuatara, the only surviving reptile from the dinosaur era. If you have a specific interest in wildlife or bird watching then we will ensure your trip is wildlife focused.

So, you mentioned your dream trip to New Zealand over dinner and now the kids (all of a sudden) want to join you on holiday again? Don’t worry – we’ve heard it all before! We have families of all shapes and sizes join our trips because they really do have something for everyone. If Mum wants to head out on her bike while Dad and daughter explore on foot, that’s fine on our trips! There are options every day. The other great thing being that someone else is responsible for making sure the trip runs smoothly, that everyone is well-fed and it’s easy as pie to get from A to B. What’s not to love? A family trip to New Zealand is always a trip of a lifetime and we take our role in that very seriously indeed.

If you are travelling solo and not sure how best to make it work, then we highly recommend coming along on one of our trips. We get a lot of solo travellers joining us and they find that by being with a small group of other people as well as our two Kiwi guides, they can really get the best of both worlds of travelling alone and with new friends too. There are no single supplements on our trips, so no nasty surprises there. We’ll team you up with a friendly fellow-traveller of the same sex to share a room with for the duration of your trip.
